What is BibGenie?
BibGenie is a Zotero-native research assistant that helps you search, read, analyze, and organize your library without leaving your workflow. You can add Zotero items, PDFs, notes, tags, collections, selected text, images, screenshots, and even current pages as context, then ask grounded research questions and save the answers back as Zotero notes. It supports keyword and semantic search, deep paper reading, synthesis, metadata cleanup, tag and collection management, and preview-first library changes. BibGenie also works with web search and web extract when needed, and it lets you use recommended models, bring your own key, or run local models through providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Ollama, and LM Studio.
