What is Barside?
Barside puts a note-taking app, a to-do list, a read-later inbox, a screen recorder, video meetings, a password vault and an AI assistant into one free desktop app for Windows, Mac and Linux. Your library is saved on your computer, notes work without an account, and the AI uses the account you connect: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or OpenRouter.
Key features

- A reading inbox for articles and newsletters, with highlights.
- Video meetings with screen sharing, chat and live captions.
- An AI assistant that uses your own AI account; every change can be undone.
