What is StudioCapture?

StudioCapture records your Mac screen and your camera at the same time, into a single QuickTime file, at up to 3840x2160. The camera is composited into the recording on the GPU as a rounded picture-in-picture tile, in whichever corner you choose, with adjustable size, margin, corner rounding, mirroring, drop shadow and outline. It can also be written to its own separate file when you would rather cut it yourself. Audio is the part most screen recorders get wrong. System audio and your microphone land on two separate tracks in the same movie, never premixed, so DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and Premiere Pro each import them onto their own timeline lanes and the mix is still yours to fix in the edit. Sample rates are copied from the device rather than forced to 48 kHz, so a microphone running at 44 100 Hz is written at 44 100 Hz and never touches a rate converter. Encode to HEVC for small files at high quality, or ProRes 422 and 422 LT to cut - intra-frame, so a two-hour take scrubs instantly instead of stuttering through long GOPs.
