What is costwiseuk.co.uk?
Costwise publishes honest price ranges for 150 UK home improvement jobs, from a new boiler to a loft conversion. Every figure has a low, typical and high, is dated, and is adjusted by region, because a London extension is not a Newcastle one. There is a free calculator for every job, plus 14 material calculators that work out how much concrete, turf, topsoil or paint you need. No sign-up, no paywall, and no lead form standing between you and a price. The whole dataset is open: a downloadable CSV under CC BY 4.0 with a DOI on Zenodo, so anyone can check the working or build on it. The calculators are embeddable on other sites for free. Built and maintained by one person. It is free to read, and it earns only if a reader chooses to request installer quotes or clicks a clearly marked affiliate link, which is disclosed on every page it applies to.
